In 2019, Top 10 Films looked at the best work of John Huston, Roy Scheider, Meg Ryan, William Friedkin, Woody Harrelson, as well as Gene Hackman’s greatest thrillers and the movies of Alec Guinness and Elizabeth Taylor.
We championed British film’s newest output, LGBT and Scottish cinema, iconic movie songs, the work of first-time female directors, and great threesequels.
We also got weird with cat films, art horror, and unexpected scary movie endings, sentimental with 1990s blockbusters, movies about movies, and Stephen King, and nostalgic about villains, popular music, and great feats of wardrobe that criminally received no Oscar recognition.
