This September, thriller Imperium promises to show us a side of Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe that we’ve never seen. The feature film debut of Daniel Ragussius lands in UK cinemas September 23.
The Donnie Brasco of the white supremacist movement in America, Imperium is inspired by the real life events of undercover FBI agent Michael German who infiltrated a group of “red neck” fanatics plotting a terrorist attack. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe shaves his head and channels his inner gurn to play Nate Foster, a young FBI agent battling to retain his anonymity amid a hate-filled world of white power fascism.
First-time feature film director Daniel Ragussius worked closely with real life FBI inspiration Michael German to bring authenticity and a tangible sense of drama to the film. Many believe it will finally distant Radcliffe from the innocent wizard of the Harry Potter franchise and identify him as one of cinema’s best contemporary actors.
