Keanu Reeves seeks to satisfy our thirst for more John Wick with action-thriller Siberia, which is in UK cinemas from November 16. The actor, known for his acts of real life kindness, shows none of that philanthropic spirit as a gun-toting diamond dealer facing off against the Russian mob.
From director Matthew Ross, who made 2016’s Frank & Lola, Siberia’s action heroics will hope to bridge the gap to John Wick 3 which is out next year. Perhaps not quite ready to break into Keanu Reeves’ top 10 films and despite critics railing against it, Siberia promises to deliver simple, high octane thrills for fans of the actor and b-movie action films.
Indeed, the film boasts the screenwriting of Scott B. Smith, the man behind the brilliant noir thriller A Simple Plan (which is one of the best films of both its director Sam Raimi and lead Bill Paxton), who fittingly fills Siberia with intriguing plot twists, gunplay and double crosses.
Starring up and coming actress Ana Ularu as Reeves’ love interest, 80s icon Molly Ringwald, and Deadwood’s Pasha D Lynchnikoff, Siberia arrives in UK cinemas and Digital HD from November 16.
