David Fincher’s latest film The Killer is in cinemas now. It will then begin streaming on Netflix in November. The neo-noir action thriller stars Michael Fassbender as a professional assassin. It premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2023 and earned rave reviews from critics.
The film, which was written by Andrew Kevin Walker who wrote Fincher’s Seven, was branded a “horribly addictive samurai procedural” by critic Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian in his five-star review.
He went on to write that The Killer is “entertainingly absurd and yet the pure conviction and deadpan focus that Fassbender and Fincher bring to this ballet of anonymous professionalism makes it very enjoyable.”
The Daily Beast said the film features “Fincher at his wicked best” and praised the work of Fassbender. It tells the story of the titular “killer” who gets caught up in an international manhunt after a hit goes awry.
The Killer is in cinemas now and comes to Netflix on November 10.
