By Cinemas in much of the UK will reopen on May 17.
That’s right, audiences keen on the “big screen” experience don’t have to wait much longer to see the latest movies in theatres.
But what films are on when cinemas reopen?

Cinema fans have been starved of the big screen experience for a long time now. Cineworld, for example, has been closed since October 5 last year due to the fact major Hollywood studios were preferring to send their new releases direct to streaming platforms.
But the day when theatres will be able to show movies as they have always been intended is drawing closer.
England, Wales and Scotland have all confirmed that cinemas will be able to open their doors with Odeon, Vue, Curzon, Everyman and BFI Southbank announcing they’ll be open from that date with various social distancing measures in place.
Others such as HOME in Manchester and London’s Prince Charles Cinema are also set to reopen on May 17.
But what can we expect when we head over to our favourite cinema’s website to book our tickets and what new films are recommended?
New releases to look out for include the multi-Oscar-winning Nomadland (which is streaming on Disney+ currently) starring the incomparable Frances McDormand, new Conjuring sequel The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, and Peter Rabbit 2.
Cruella, starring Emma Stone as Cruella” de Vil, is also set for release on May 28 while horror fans will be thrilled to hear A Quiet Place: Part II arrives June 4.
Expect cinema chains to have a mix of previously released films (those that have come out in the last 12 months) as well as a few older films in order to fill their screens in anticipation of more movies emerging throughout the year.
Showcase Cinemas, for example, is currently taking bookings for the following for its May 17 reopening: Godzilla vs Kong, Spiral: From The Book Of Saw, Tom & Jerry The Movie, Raya & The Last Dragon, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, Judas & The Black Messiah, Maya The Bee: The Golden Orb, Sound Of Metal, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry and Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In.
Best film to see on “reopening” day: Nomadland

Best film to see in the next few weeks: A Quiet Place: Part II
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
