It’s time to return to Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse as Jay and Silent Bob Reboot arrives in UK cinemas on November 29. Fittingly self-reflexive, writer-director Smith’s latest film as part of a group of movies which includes Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy, is both a reboot and a satire of Hollywood’s remake movie culture.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot will arrive in UK cinemas on November 29. Fans of Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse – which includes films such as Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy – will be licking their lips at the thought of another adventure with Smith’s lovable rogues Jay and Silent Bob.
The latest film is a sequel to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back which aims to poke fun at Hollywood’s penchant for reboots and remakes. Smith once again stars as Bob alongside sidekick Jason Mews as Jay.
Peppered with other big names and returning cast/characters including Jason Lee as Brodie Bruce, Joey Lauren Adams as Alyssa Jones, Ben Affleck as Holden McNeil, Jason Biggs, James Van Der Beek, and Val Kilmer as themselves, and Matt Damon, the film promises to be another delightful entry in this group of offbeat comedies.
The film finds Jay & Silent Bob heading off to ChronicCon in Hollywood to stop a movie being made about their Bluntman and Chronic personas without their backing (having lost the rights to their own names). Along the way, they run into Jay’s old girlfriend, Justice (Shannon Elizabeth) and Jay discovers he has a daughter he never knew he had – one who forces the pair, at knifepoint, to take her with them to Hollywood, so she can be an extra in the new movie.
Jay and Silent Bob reboot is in UK cinemas from November 29.
