Clio Barnard’s powerful drama-documentary about troubled playwright Andrea Dunbar has been nominated for Best Film and Best Screenplay at the London Evening Standard’s Film Awards. This unique film charts the life of Andrea Dunbar’s short existence through the eyes of those that knew her, using actors lip-syncing to recorded interviews taken with Andrea’s real life friends and family. Louise Jury, Chief Arts Correspondent for the London Evening Standard, called the film “ground-breaking”.

We reviewed the film in October after seeing a special screening in Andrea Dunbar’s home town of Bradford. You can read our review here.
