Scarlett Johansson begins shooting her solo Black Widow movie as the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins work on its post-Endgame feature films.
According to reports, Black Widow has begun filming in Norway with Scarlett Johansson reprising the role she played in previous MCU movies including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
As Jeremy Conrad writes on MCU Cosmic, “Blue Bayou” Production (the working title for the Johansson-produced film) trucks are on location with Johansson in a small Norwegian town set to double as Black Widow’s childhood home. That would suggest Natasha Romanoff is going to get either an origins story or some sort of prequel.
However, some believe it will slot into the MCU chronology more recently. Comicbook.com speculates it might take place after Captain America: Civil War, putting it in Phase 3 territory.
Marvel has yet to formally announce the film but since the secret appears to be out, the studio will likely reveal where Black Widow appears on its upcoming slate soon.
