Warner Bros. has unveiled the latest trailer for its two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel It.
Andy Muschietti takes us back to Derry and the nightmare that befell the “Loser’s Club” in It: Chapter One. In the latest trailer for the sequel, which arrives in UK and US cinemas on September 6, we witness a grown-up Beverly returning to her old family home only to realise something sinister resides there.
Anticipation for It: Chapter Two has been hotting up for a while thanks to the release of “first look” images of James McAvoy portraying the grown-up Bill Denbrough (who was previously seen in It: Chapter One during childhood with Jaeden Lieberher in the role).
Muschietti directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman (who wrote Annabelle: Creation as well as Chapter One) with Javier Botet, Jessica Chastain and Bill Skarsgård joining McAvoy in the cast.
The sequel picks up the story of Pennywise the Clown 27 years after the events of the first film. The children of Chapter 1 are now adults and, having sworn an oath to return to defeat the monster who once tormented them, are brought back together after the murders begin again.
Suffice to say, Muschietti has his work cut out to reach the heights of the first instalment but the talented director has all the attributes to deliver another thrilling horror film based on Stephen King’s much-loved novel.
It: Chapter Two arrives in UK cinemas on 6 September.
