“Spider-Man: Far From Home” Will Feature Sequences Specifically Formatted For IMAX

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue to embrace the IMAX cinema experience with scenes in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home being specifically formatted for presentation on IMAX’s super-sized screens.

Spider-Man Far From Home

Marvel has previously embraced the IMAX format with sequences featuring up to 26% more picture than traditional cinema screens. The upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, which sees Peter Parker leaving super-heroics behind him for a few weeks on a European vacation, will be digitally remastered to make full use of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR technology.

The Sony Pictures release will arrive in cinemas in July with IMAX customers enjoying the format’s customised cinema geometry and powerful digital audio. Starring Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson and Jon Favreau with Marisa Tomei and Jake Gyllenhaal, the follow-up to your friendly neighbourhood superhero’s exploits in Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, sees his plans for a vacation scrapped when he agrees to help Nick Fury investigate a spate of elemental creature attacks across the continent.

Spider-Man: Far From Home arrives in UK cinemas including IMAX on July 2, 2019.
