Award-winning German-American actress Diane Kruger took to the Formula E grid in the heart of Paris today ahead of this afternoon’s hotly contested race.
As the ABB FIA Formula E Championship heads back to the French capital for the 4thyear in a row, Inglorious Bastardsstar and passionate environmentalist Diane walked amongst the Gen2 electric cars and met the race teams, including those from her native Germany; Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler, and HWA and drivers Lucas di Grassi, Gary Paffett and Stoffel Vandoorne.
Last night Diane attended an intimate soirée at LOULOU in Paris following an exhilarating afternoon, taking to the Formula E racetrack in a powerful BMW i8 safety car, with Formula E Founder andCEO Alejandro Agag.
Formula E, which champions sustainability and zero emissions, is poised for its eighth race of Season 5 this afternoon, building on a sensational season of unpredictable racing that has seen seven different race winners, of seven different nationalities, in the first seven races.
Diane Kruger said: “I am passionate about creating a more environmentally friendly world and I love what Formula E is doing to champion zero emissions. All of this is even more important to me now. It’s been amazing to have been part of this year’s Paris Formula E race – in a city I love – and it’s been so much fun to get to know the Formula E family this weekend.”
Diane has previously driven through Death Valley drinking only the water from the exhaust of a vehicle that only emits H2O.
Formula E is continuing to attract some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment to its events with top talent such as Idris Elba, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo Dicaprio, Rita Ora and Sienna Miller all passionate about its role in sustainability and as the future of motor racing. In March, Liam Payne and Naomi Campbell spent a weekend together enjoying the Formula E action in Hong Kong and Ewan McGregor attended the last race in Rome.
Season 5 features 13 races in 12 of the world’s most exciting cities, including street races in Hong Kong, Paris and New York City as well as returning to Monaco.
Formula E is the world’s only fully electric street racing series with a mission to advance electric vehicle technology and shape the cars of the future, for a world of zero emissions on the track, on city streets and for everyday drivers.
