Avengers: Endgame set to become the top grossing film of 2019, surpassing £22 million in advanced ticket sales.
Avengers: Endgame will beat its predecessor’s opening weekend box office figure of £29 million after pre-sold tickets around the UK were totalled up.
Avengers: Infinity War enjoyed a massive first week at the box office, going on to gross more than $2 billion worldwide. But the sequel, and the final film for this group of “Avengers”, is set to make even more money.
An incredible 3.25% of the UK population purchased advanced tickets and 2,000 screenings have nearly sold out. The most 95%-sold screenings were in the East of England with South East and the East Midlands close behind.
After a very quiet Easter box office weekend, data experts Applaudience have confirmed Avengers: Endgame is on course to surpass the astronomical numbers of Infinity War.
Unlike Easter weekend, this weekend, which of course features the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film, has already seen 1,177,613 tickets sold for Endgame screenings between Friday and Sunday.
It means the film has already made £12.1 million in advanced ticket sales and a further £10 million across additional dates (based on an average opening weekend ticket price of £10.28 and all dates of £10.24).
