Nic Cage enjoys a few admirable milestones during a storied career but there’s one I’m sure he’d prefer he didn’t have. With his latest divorce, the Las Vegas native has now clocked up four failed marriages with the latest one lasting just four days.
Nic Cage is good at many things. He’s a great, Academy Award winning actor. He’s a film producer with a classy record which includes Shadow of the Vampire and The Life of David Gale. And he’s a career philanthropist who has donated millions to charities like Amnesty International.
But he’s not good at marriage. Last month he married for the fourth time – on this occasion to makeup artist Erika Koike – only to file for annulment four days later to smash his previous record of three months of marriage to Lisa Marie Presley.
TMZ claims people saw the recently married couple arguing at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The latest failed relationship for Cage follows previous marriages to Patricia Arquette (1995 to 2001) and Alice Kim (2004 to 2016).
The actor, whose best films showcase a uniquely talented screen performer boasting a diverse, cross-genre filmography, was recently critically acclaimed for his work in horror film Mandy and animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
The nephew of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now director Francis Ford Coppola boasts a body of work that is enriched by both commercial hits (like National Treasure) and fine independent releases including David Lynch’s marvellous Wild at Heart and the Academy Award winning film Leaving Las Vegas.
