Described as “one of the most visually inventive, relentless and truly original films ever made”, Sam Raimi’s cult horror classic Evil Dead 2 not only gets a new deluxe Blu-ray and DVD release in March but has been given the 4K Ultra HD treatment.
You’ll never forget the first time you see Evil Dead 2. Not only a classic of the genre but one of those rares examples of a sequel being better than its original, Sam Raimi’s cult hit gets a deluxe new UK Blu-ray and DVD release to coincide with a 4K Ultra HD version and new Digital release.
For home video, audiences will be treated to a host of special features including an audio commentary from Raimi, Scott Spiegel, Bruce Campbell and Greg Nicotero. For the Blu-ray, you’ll be able to check out a new tribute to the film from its director, making-of, location revisit, and Bruce Campbell interview.
Boasting a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes, Evil Dead 2 is known as a thrill-packed, gore-led rollercoaster ride. It’s a must-see for new genre fans and a firm favourite with horror veterans.
After the successful reaction to the first film, Raimi began filming the sequel in Michigan and North Carolina in 1986. The film debuted in the US on March 13, 1987. It wasn’t a smash hit at the box office but made a profit and garnered very positive reviews with critics praising Raimi’s direction and Campbell’s performance. The film was followed by a third instalment, Army of Darkness, in 1992 and a television series, Ash vs Evil Dead, in 2015.
EVIL DEAD 2 IS ON 4K ULTRA HD FOR THE FIRST TIME, AND ON BLU-RAY™, DVD & DIGITAL DOWNLOAD FROM MARCH 4 2019.
