For one night only, DC animation fans will get the chance to see The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen on the big screen back-to-back. The action-packed event will take place on January 14 beginning with an animated adaptation of DC’s landmark 1992-1993 comic phenomenon featuring the voices of Jerry O’Connell, Rebecca Romijn and Rainn Wilson as the voices of Superman, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, respectively.
The Death of Superman begins as an asteroid hurtling through our atmosphere brings with it the malevolent force known as Doomsday. With innocent lives under threat, the Justice League band together to tackle this otherwordly menace. But despite their collective might, it comes down to the power of Superman as the only one who can stop Doomsday and save planet earth.
Actors O’Connell, Romijn and Wilson are joined by Jason O’Mara as Batman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, and Christopher Gorham as The Flash.
Straight after the film, Reign of the Supermen continues the story, taking place a few months after the death of Superman. The world is still shaken as four new superheroes turn up in Metropolis battling to be known as the new Man of Steel. But dark forces emerge and again the battle lines are drawn.
The films will screen in UK cinemas on January 14 before being available on Digital Download a day after and on Blu-ray and DVD from January 28.
