We can declare Dolph Lundgren’s Female Fight Club OPEN!

Female Fight Club - Dolph LundgrenThe film, described as a “great movie” by Nerdly.co.uk which praised expert martial artist and seasoned stunt performer Amy Johnston’s turn as one which fittingly looks “true and terrifying” instantly putting her amongst the great action superstars, sees a former illegal fighter return to the life she willingly abandoned in order to help her sibling survive the bleak world of illegal fighting and the maniac who controls it.

Director Miguel A. Ferrer’s action-thriller comes hot on the heels of Lundgren’s eagerly anticipated return as Rocky villain Ivan Drago in Creed II and finds the Swedish heavyweight playing a father who is imprisoned after taking the rap for murders committed by his daughter.

But he does play second fiddle to Johnston who needed no stunt doubles to perform the fight manoeuvres she carries out in Female Fight Club. When tragedy strikes, former fighter Rebecca (Johnston, who was a stunt performer in films such as Deadpool, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Suicide Squad) returns to the underground fighting scene as ‘Bex the Beast’. Alongside her sister Kate, she trains the team but must also take on another battle, with the cruel dangerous promoter who is threatening Kate’s life.

Female Fight Club is on Digital including iTunes NOW from Exploitation Films.

Rory Fish has loved movies since he can remember. If he was to put together an "all time" top 10 of absolute favourites it would have to include North By Northwest, 12 Angry Men and Sunset Boulevard.
