Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman could be joining Tilda Swinton for Wes Anderson’s upcoming new musical.
After Tilda Swinton was confirmed as the first actor to officially sign-up for Wes Anderson’s in-development musical (according to Charente Libre), Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman are the latest names to be rumoured to be joining her.
It wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Pitt team-up with Anderson but it has been a long time since the pair worked together on the SoftBank commercial a decade ago. Portman has enjoyed a couple of Anderson projects since then, starring in The Darjeeling Limited and the short film prologue Hotel Chevalier.
Of course, there’s a very good chance Anderson regulars Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Bill Murray will have some part to play in the production as well.
Swinton was brilliant in The Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom so it’s nice to hear she’s collaborating with the writer-director once again while Lea Seydoux, who was in The Grand Budapest Hotel too, is another whose name keeps being mentioned.
The currently untitled film will be set in post-WWII France and feature songs by Mark Mothersbaugh according to rumours.
