Bruce Willis might be counting the $5.5 million he made on the Idaho holiday home he’s just sold. But it comes seven years after first listing the huge lakeside retreat and nearly $10 million below its original asking price.
Bruce Willis may have at one time enjoyed a few holiday getaways at this picturesque Idaho holiday home but he put it up for sale seven years ago, asking a cool $15 million for the lavish property. It never sold. Now, according to toptenrealestatedeals.com, after dramatically reducing the asking price to $6 million and accepting $5.495 million, the Die Hard actor, who’ll soon be seen in Glass, can finally put this bit of real estate behind him.
Willis is no stranger to buying and selling homes. He has recently put his attention on the east coast but has in the past owned homes in Los Angeles, Idaho, New York (a mansion in Bedford, New York being his last major purchase). Like a number of Hollywood actors, Willis has found further fortune in buying and flipping real estate.
His Idaho retreat in Hailey, Idaho, which sits on the banks of Flying Heart Lake, saw the actor rebuild the main house, add a guest house and gym, and refurbish the resort-sized swimming pool, but despite these appealing features, no one was willing to come close to the home’s initial $15 million list price.
Completely private with its surround of thick woodland, the 8,403 square-foot home boasts six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, heated terraces and balconies. Views of the lake can be seen from inside with vaulted ceilings, three fireplaces, and a large gourmet kitchen.
The 2,200 square-foot master bedroom has a fireplace and sitting area with jacuzzi bathtub, granite steam shower and large walk-in closet.
Outside the gated, secure home is a resort-size heated swimming pool with waterfalls and slides. For Willis, when he was holidaying here, it’s likely he enjoyed a bit of skiing, hiking or biking which are all popular activities in the area.
