Denmark’s selection for its Best Foreign Language Film entry at the 91st Academy Awards, The Guilty, arrives in UK cinemas on October 26.

The Guilty

Winner of the World Cinema Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival and Denmark’s selection for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards, The Guilty is Swedish director Gustav Moller’s feature-length directorial debut.

A suspenseful and gritty thriller, it follows dispatcher and former police officer Asger Holm (Jakob Cedergren) desperately searching for a kidnapped woman who alerted police to her predicament via the only tool in her possession: her phone.

When the call is suddenly disconnected, the search for the woman and her kidnapper begins. Asger enters into a race against the clock to save the endangered woman; soon realising that he is dealing with a more serious crime than he first thought.

The Guilty is in cinemas nationwide from October 26.
