Hunter Killer, the latest film from Spud and Avenged director Donovan Marsh, features two familiar faces on its latest poster as Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman take to the seas in this submarine-based action-thriller.
Based on George Wallace and Don Keith’s novel Firing Point, action-thriller Hunter Killer sees an American submarine come to the world’s rescue when a Russian coup is discovered and only Gerard Butler’s Captain Joe Glass can prevent World War III.
Starring Gary Oldman, Common, Linda Cardellini and Toby Stephens, this high-stakes thriller aims to bring the claustrophobic, tension-filled drama of warfare inside a submarine to the big screen in the same way as other Hollywood actioners U-571 and K-19: The Widowmaker.
The film comes from the producers who made Fast & Furious, Olympus Has Fallen and, unfortunately, London Has Fallen (described on Top 10 Films as a “soiled product of Hollywood’s dash for cash”). Donovan Marsh, director of Spud and Avenged, is calling the shots.
Hunter Killer arrives in UK cinemas on October 19.
