Featuring Tony and Grammy Award®-winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Black-ish), Carlos Lopez Estrada’s drama Blindspotting is set for a limited UK release on October 5.

The Grand Jury Prize-nominated film at Sundance sees Diggs’ Collin battling to make it through his final three days of probation, eager for a new start but faced with more than one obstacle.

Indeed, things get harder when he and his unruly childhood best friend, Miles (Rafael Casal), are faced with dealing with being witnesses to a police shooting. The two men’s friendship is tested, as a sense of identity and the realities of the rapidly-gentrifying neighbourhood they thought they knew come to a head.

Described as “rousing” and a “a cultural touchstone” by Variety, the film The New York Times said “ought to be seen by the widest audience possible” is a topical and wildly entertaining story concerning how race and class can impact friendship. Estrada’s feature film debut bursts with energy, style, and humour; a provocative hometown love letter.

Blindspotting will be released in the UK on October 5.
