Fun Alternative Poster Art Suggests Playful Entertainment In “King Of Thieves”

Starring a who’s-who of British greats including Sir Michael Caine, Jim Broadbent, Ray Winstone, Michael Gambon, Paul Whitehouse and Tom Courtenay, King Of Thieves is a lighthearted caper retelling the true life story of the Hatton Garden diamond heist.

Building up to the release of James Marsh’s King of Thieves on September 4, Studiocanal has released playful alternative poster art.

The lighthearted caper brings to dramatic life the true story of the Hatton Garden diamond heist, and stars a brilliant cast of British veterans such as Sir Michael Caine, Jim Broadbent, Tom Courtenay, Michael Gambon, Ray Winstone, and Paul Whitehouse

Considered the biggest and most daring heist in British history, the film follows a crew of retired crooks who intend to pull off a major heist in London’s jewellery district.

Boasting the directing talent of James Marsh whose previous credits include The Theory of Everything and feature documentaries Man on Wire and Project Nim, the film was inspired by Mark Seal’s Vanity Fair piece The Over the Hill Mob which details the group’s successful entry into the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Company’s building and subsequent access, by drilling, to the vault through 50cm-thick walls with heavy machinery.

Here’s the four alternative posters:
