“The Wild Boys” Arrives On MUBI

Bertrand Mandico’s “dirty-minded erotic fantasia” The Wild Boys begins streaming on MUBI from September 14.

The Wild Boys

Jonathan Romney of Film Comment described Bertrand Mandico’s film as “a sweetly dirty-minded erotic fantastia.” Set in the early 1900s, five affluent teenagers commit a murder and are subsequently sent on a repressive cruise under the command of a violent captain.

A unique, surreal debut film, The Wild Boys experiments with eroticism and gender-bending to deliver a strange tale of the unexpected. Immersive in its visual otherness, Mandico’s preoccupation with the occult gives the audience a enigmatic look at sexual norms and gender narratives.

The film arrives on MUBI as part of the online streaming service’s Special Discoveries strand.
