As John McTiernan’s Predator celebrates its 30th anniversary, UK cinemagoers will get the chance to enjoy the film where it belongs – on the big screen! The sci-fi action classic will be screened in the UK from November 9.
Predator returns to UK cinemas on November 9. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this sci-fi action classic, and one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s best films, will screen across the UK at a range of venues including those run by leading chains VUE and Cineworld.
The film’s arrival in cinemas heralds the arrival of an upcoming Predator movie from writer-director Shane Black (who played Hawkins in the 1987 original and has gone on to write and direct some of the finest American films of recent years including Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3 and The Nice Guys). The Predator, as Black’s new film is known, is scheduled for release during the summer of 2018.
The original, telling the story of an elite group of soldiers stalked through the South American jungle by an invisible enemy, has been called a “sci-fi and action classic” by Empire film magazine, featured in Rolling Stone magazine’s top 10 best action movies of all time, and frequently celebrated on Top 10 Films in our lists.
Directed by John McTiernan a year before Die Hard made him Hollywood’s most sought-after director, Predator has frequently been called the quintessential action movie and featured in Top 10 Films’ lists including the top 10 action heroes of the 1980s, top 10 villains in Arnold Schwarzenegger films, the top 10 most painful to watch military deaths, and our top 10 action-horror films ever made.
Predator will be released in cinemas across the UK on November 9, 2017. Shane Black’s The Predator will be released by Twentieth Century Fox in 2018.
