The man who changed the face of cinema following the release of seminal classic Jaws has continued to inspire, invigorate and excite audiences through motion pictures. His storytelling ability captures all that is great about cinema and its capacity to entertain.
30 of the director’s film will be showcased throughout the season with the brand new 35mm print of his director’s cut version of Close Encounters of the Third Kind drawing the most excitement. Other titles screening in the first part of the season include classic Jaws and ET along with 1985’s The Color Purple, pre-Jaws thriller Duel, the Gold Hawn-starring cross-country chase The Sugarland Express and Spielberg’s only real flop 1941.
