Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot is to get the IMAX 3D treatment and released in IMAX theatres across the UK from July 16. But after a lukewarm reaction to its full-length trailer, will a super-sized IMAX screening only highlight its potential flaws?
Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released into UK IMAX® theatres from on July 16. The new film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, from a screenplay written by Feig and Kate Dippold.
“This Ghostbusters film is not only hilarious, it has the kind of action and spectacle that the IMAX format was made to showcase,” said Rory Bruer, President of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures. “We’re thrilled that audiences will have the chance to experience this incredible movie in IMAX.”
