As the film world prepares for the 2016 Oscar ceremony, an indication to the frontrunners has been revealed after the BAFTA (the UK’s Oscars equivalent) unveiled the runners and riders for its celebration of the “best of” 2015. The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Carol, The Ravenent and Spotlight will battle for Best Film, while Outstanding British Film will go to either 45 Years, Amy, Brooklyn, The Danish Girl, Ex Machina and The Lobster.

The Danish Girl is also up for Costume Design and Make Up & Hair, with Leading Actor and Leading Actress nominations for Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander respectively.

Elsewhere, Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet are nominated in Leading Actor and Supporting Actress respectively for Steve Jobs, which is also nominated for Adapted Screenplay.

Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight is nominated in Original Screenplay, Original Music, and Supporting Actress for Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Meanwhile, the Animated Film nominees are Minions, Shaun the Sheep Movie and Inside Out, which also receives a nomination for Original Screenplay.
