The deal sees the third co-production between the two companies for the Puerto Rican based action-thriller Cartel directed by Sacha Bennett…
“In the tropical heat of Puerto Rico, military policeman Michael Stone (Craig Fairbrass) is out of his depth as he investigates the murder of a British priest, clashing with the violent Cartel that runs the island. As things become personal, it’s up to Stone and Maria, a reluctant local guide to bring the Cartel down. Expect a high body count as Stone unleashes his own brand of justice!”
The deal was negotiated by Red Rock Entertainment’s Gary Collins and Impact Entertainment’s Luke Fairbrass.
Gary Collins, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Red Rock Entertainment, said: “We are delighted to be partnering again with Impact Entertainment; working with them has been seamless and are very excited about Cartel’s international appeal.”
Their first collaboration was on Jonnie Malachi’s powerful psychological thriller Breakdown, which is set for a theatrical release later this year and most recently on Mark McQueen’s hard-hitting, stylish heist thriller Gunned Down set in Spain’s Costa del Sol and London. After a slew of sales in Cannes earlier this year, buyers are now hungry for the AFM screening of Gunned Down from U.S based Cinema Management Group (CMG).
