James Horner, the acclaimed film composer who created the music for Braveheart, Titanic, Aliens and Apollo 13 amongst many others, has died at the age of 61 after his small turboprop plane crashed in California.
Very sad to hear the news that acclaimed film composer James Horner, who was responsible for one of my favourite scores (Braveheart), has passed away following a plane crash in California. The avid pilot died after his small turboprop aircraft, of which he was the single occupant, crashed in the Los Padres National Forest in southern California.
Horner was responsible for the music of films such as Aliens, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Apollo 13 and Titanic. In total he worked on more than 100 films, winning two Academy Awards.
