Ever wondered how the X-Men would get “The Last Pringle”? Well, now you find out by adopting their powers to get that elusive final crisp…!
The X-Men are coming. Back. Again… Yes, as if Marvel didn’t have enough on its collective plate with the likes of Thor, The Avengers, Iron Man and that Captain guy, its favourite rogue heroes are returning to the big screen in what can only be described as the ensemble to end all ensembles. Yes, THIS is even bigger than The Avengers (the “assembled” ensemble if you’re from the UK).
X-Men: Days of Future Past is, I’m semi-reliably informed, the seventh movie in the official X-Men franchise developed by 20th Century Fox from the Marvel comic-books. Set for release in the UK May 22nd (that’s a day before you guys in the States) the film will likely cause furrowed brows from those not following the X-Men’s cinematic plight with microscopic attention to detail. That’s because this isn’t just any ‘ol sequel.
The film brings together the X-Men story strands that began with Bryan Singer in the director’s chair in 2000 and continued through X-Men United in 2003 and X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006 before Wolverine got his own “show” with X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013). In the meantime we had the prequel X-Men: First Class in 2011 which flashed back in time to the heroes’ earlier lives. So, not to confuse things any further but X-Men: Days of Future Past, a film whose title immediately begs the question “What the f-“, is therefore a sequel to not one, not two, but three films.
With the original Kick-Ass creators behind the latest film, Days of Future Past sees the characters from the first three X-Men films join forces with their younger selves as seen in X-Men: First Class in order to change the past to save their future. Does that make any sense? I hope so! Because once you’ve strapped those 3D glasses to your face the ride is going to be a fast-paced one with little time to fill in the blanks.
To celebrate the release Pringles has challenged the X-Men to the ultimate test. It’s known as “The Last Pringle” and derives from that often infuriating challenge of getting the final Pringle out of the box. Yes, the challenge made all the more difficult through an unusual inability to turn the box upside down. Mutants from the film, however, don’t have these sorts of first-world problems!
Pringles have joined up with these unwitting superheroes who have, for a short time at least, offered up their superpowers to the consumer. Can you get the last Pringle?
Through Pringle’s dedicated website consumers adopt mutant abilities to complete a challenge and open the can to get The Last Pringle. You can try slicing like Wolverine, create a tornado like Storm or crush metal with the power of the mind like Magneto. Successful participants will unlock exclusive X-Men: Days of Future Past content.
Getting to the Last Pringle at the bottom of the can is never easy. So let’s find out how the X-Men would do it. Buy a promotional can of Pringles Xtra and use the code to unlock exclusive X-Men: Days Of Future Past content – www.pringles.com
