Top 10 Richard Dreyfuss Films

Richard Dreyfuss famously turned down the part of Matt Hooper in Jaws. He didn’t think the film would be a good career choice. But after seeing, and being disappointed, by his performance in the film The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, he immediately called Spielberg on the phone and begged for the part fearing no one in Hollywood would hire him ever again. Top 30 Horror Films 1967 – 1979 (Part 3)

Just in time for Halloween, we conclude our look at the best horror movies of the late 1960s and 1970s. In Part 3 we run down the top 10 scary movies released between 1967 and 1979. We have witches, and we have demonic children, pagan cults and fanatically religious mothers. Also in the mix are a family of cannibals, a host of dispensable teenagers, an insane brother, a loving father, a computer named Mother, and a son hell bent on taking over the world. And we must not forget the terrifying alien, the shark off Amity Island, and that strange little woman who stalks Donald Suhterland in Don’t Look Now.

Rodney Twelftree’s Top 10 Steven Spielberg Films

Rodney Tweltree’s turn to look at the top 10 films of Steven Spielberg. In a list quite different from our editor Dan Srephens’s Top 10, Rodney sees Spielberg’s most recent films as deserving more credit. He says: Ever since he burst onto the scene in the mid 70′s with Duel, and more successfully with Jaws, audiences have flocked to see his films in droves. Whether it’s the popcorn munching thrills of the latest Indiana Jones adventure, the shocking and saddening wartime bravura of Schindler’s List, or the thunderous bass levels of Jurassic Park, it’s an undeniable fact that for over thirty years Mr Spielberg has been giving film fans the movies they’ve wanted to see.

Not only that, it is one of the most widely decorated films ever made, collecting three Oscars as well as ranking highly on hundreds of top films lists including being named as one of the top 100 films ever made by Total Film, the 5th best film ever made by Empire, and the 48th best film ever made by the American Film Institute.
