“I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in!”

13 February 2011 No Comment

February saw Top 10 Films spend a little time with a group of mythological beasties that like to come out when the moon is full.

Our time with the werewolf was fraught with danger as we narrowly avoided meeting our maker when mistaking our silver bullet ammunition belt for a garlic necklace. Note to self – must remember which folklore monster I’m profiling so as to ensure adequate protection is used, and is conducive with steering clear of the particular monster’s feeding habits!

One time, on a photography jaunt in Transylvania, I discovered it is much easier to interview a werewolf as the sun comes up than a vampire. My werewolf chum at the time was quite happy to talk while the vampire who had accompanied us was nowhere to be seen. But as my mother used to say – never trust a man with fangs bigger than your grandmother’s.

Anyway, I survived to live another day. Next on my list of fantasy creatures to interview – the alien out of Alien. I’m now off to the planet on which the alien spaceship crashed. It’s a long trip involving hyper-sleep – six months for me will be 40 years here on earth. So I’ll see you in four decades! I hope the interview will go live February 13th 2051 – see you then.

In the meantime can I draw your attention to my reviews of Silver Bullet, Cursed, Ginger Snaps and Dog Soldiers.

And if you’re feeling brave you can check out my Top 10 Werewolf Films of all time. What is your favourite werewolf movie?
