Rapper Ice-T takes a US coast to coast trip to get a flavour of what it means to be a rap artist in the 21st century. Alongside co-director Andy Baybutt, this personal journey looks at the influence of hip hop and rap on the audiences that thrive off it and on the man himself Ice-T who claims rap saved his life.

Featuring great music and some of the genre’s biggest names, Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap has been called the “definitive documentary on the creative process behind rap music”. The film features the likes of Dr. Dre, Eminem, Chuck D, Grandmaster Caz, Ice Cube, KRS-One, Nas, Run-DMC, Snoop Dogg, Afrika Bambaataa, and Yasiin Bey formerly known as Mos Def.
