Sponsored Video: Zombie advert wins at MOFILM 2012

21 June 2012 3 Comments

MOFILM, which invites filmmakers to make commercials for leading brands, unveils its Chevrolet Volt winner. This zombie apocalypse sees the Volt’s extended range come to the fore.

In this great little film, made for MOFILM, two men end up stranded on the highway after their car runs out of gas. The biggest problem isn’t the desert heat or lack of food or water, it is the horde of zombies tracking their every move. With no time left and the zombies upon them a woman drives by in the new Chevrolet Volt offering them a ride. We then realise we’re in a commercial for the new vehicle, highlighting the model’s increased range capacity of 500 kilometres, thus overcoming the “range anxiety” often associated with electric cars. It is so good, it seems, to even have the ability to outrun a full-scale zombie apocalypse!

Made for MOFILM, a company specialising in bringing new advert campaigns to a range of filmmakers by stripping the bureaucracy which potentially diminishes creativity, this film is proof the process works.

Filmmakers were tasked with making an advert that brings to the fore the capabilities of the new Chevrolet in an interesting way. The Chevrolet Volt is one of seven new Chevrolet vehicles launching in Europe this year, and the world’s first electric vehicle with extended range. The Volt has already achieved multiple awards such as the 2011 Car of the Year from a number of motoring magazines.

They should play that commercial during October and on The Walking Dead.

Nice one… not only does it get the whole “long range” message out but keeps in with the present craze of everything zombies.
